Kenny Smith

Children’s Pastor

Kenny, and his wife Kathy joined the Putnam Baptist Church family in May of 1986. Having accepted Christ as his personal Savior at age 35, Kenny began his spiritual journey knowing that God had definite plans for his life. Throughout Kenny’s 30 year career as a public servant, he attended the University of Maryland, North Carolina State University and Florida International University in the educational and administrative programs. Kenny has also completed one year at Liberty University in the Bible Study program. After retiring from law enforcement, Kenny and Kathy responded to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to serve in the children’s ministry. In September of 2008, they accepted the call to full-time ministry. Kenny and Kathy have two daughters and eight grandchildren. Their vision for the children’s ministry is to see parents abiding by God’s Word in building a strong, spiritual foundation in their children and their families.
